The SEI project (social, ecological, and inclusive) was born from a collaboration between HENRY & CO. and Reverse, involving the ecological carpentry workshop of the Montorio Prison (Verona).

SEI proposes the sale and rental of modular furniture systems, made by inmates using eco-friendly, recyclable materials from renewable sources.
Not only does the project reduce the enormous waste generated by the fair industry, but its implementation also involves individuals in difficulty, giving them the opportunity to acquire new skills useful for reintegration into society after their detention.

Henry&CO., as co-founder and supporter of the project, has backed its development and followed the phases of design and the definition of the brand identity.

Sei” is an acronym for “Simple, Ecological, Inclusive“, the core pillars and values of this collaboration. The word “Sei”, apart from embodying these three values, also draws attention to Being, thus highlighting the strong social value of the entire project. The choice of font for the logotype further emphasizes this concept, also suggesting the craftsmanship aspect of the product.

The Project/Product:
Simple
The system proposed by Sei is modular furniture based on simple wooden cubes (six as the faces of a cube). Assembled and reassembled according to the need, the cubes can meet various demands in event setups, transforming into different pieces of furniture.

Ecological
The wooden materials used, from controlled supply chains, are crafted with artisanal techniques, focusing on product quality. After each use, the cubes can also be dismantled and reused, significantly reducing the environmental impact of the entire furniture system, championing a new concept of ecological carpentry.

Inclusive
The furniture is entirely produced in the carpentry workshop of Montorio Prison, in Verona, in a prison economy project. By opting for an inclusive craftsmanship model like this, inmates are given the opportunity to engage meaningfully in a project, enhancing the likelihood of creating a new life once they leave the prison system.
