SDGs
EcoControlGsm is a company producing ecological products that since 2013 has been developing cost-effective solutions for urban waste recycling with the aim of creating a modern, technological, and eco-sustainable waste collection system.
EcoControlGsm contacted HENRY & CO. for the design of the new range of smartbins for urban waste collection.
The smartbin concept design originates from a series of ergonomic, regulatory, and safety constraints dictated by municipal guidelines, User Experience (UX), and functionality requirements.
The smartbin series is characterized by a “hut-shaped” top that houses all the moving and electrical components of the smartbin. In this area, the solar panel for powering the bin is installed, along with moving parts like the lid of the disposal bin entry.
A small sensor-equipped monitor allows the user to open the bin without needing to touch it. The front face’s angle facilitates entry through the disposal mouth and protects the contents from possible water infiltration due to external weather.
Concentrating these components in the bin’s top simplifies production and makes handling parts during the assembly phase easier.
At the base of the smartbin, the front anti-shock door simplifies maintenance and allows for easy insertion of the bin inside the smartbin.
The bin rests on a platform with scales capable of periodically measuring its weight to communicate it to the client’s management software.
The smartbin design allows for a wide range of variants and configurations.
The smartbin is available in two sizes (360L and 1100L) and can be customized with custom prints and graphics to better integrate into the urban landscape.
