The Sustainability Impact Rating (SI Rating) by ARB SBPA is a tool for measuring corporate sustainability performance in terms of ESG (environmental, social, and governance), as well as managing the strategic risks associated with them. ARB approached HENRY & CO. for the design of the plaque awarded to companies that achieved the rating.
The SI Rating evaluates corporate sustainability performance, and a plaque representing this evaluation must be designed with inherent sustainability principles.
For this reason, HENRY & CO. conceived the project as a modular system of simple, material, and iconic elements, easy to produce and customize: two wooden disks and a laser-cut metal sheet held together by two simple screws.
The first disk laser-engraves the text of the Sustainability Impact Rating and the year of the award, while the second disk, which takes center stage, is left for customization with the logo of the awarded company.
The metal plate fits perfectly between these two elements, and with a combination of laser cutting, painting, and silk-screening, identifies the rating level achieved, elevating the award. Blue identifies the start level, bronze for the bronze level, silver for the silver level, and gold for the gold level. This breakdown into three fundamental elements allows for optimized production and processes, introducing a balanced mix between standardization and customization. Thanks to modularity, it is also possible to update the elements of the award separately, such as renewing only the back disk annually, the metal plaque if the sustainability performance improves/worsens, while maintaining the front disk with the company’s logo.
With this plaque, HENRY & CO. aimed to create a simple, modular, and customizable system, translating into an object the sustainability principles promoted and supported by SI Rating through ecodesign logics and recyclable materials.
