Adoption of a Red Panda from Parco Natura Viva
In 2020, we decided to renew our commitment to supporting Parco Natura Viva, a local institution in Verona that is very dear to us. It is dedicated to the protection of endangered animal species and is currently facing significant challenges due to lack of funding, exacerbated by the health emergency.
We adopted Momo the panda
We decided to adopt Momo, a wonderful red panda, who will join the HENRY & CO family.
The red panda is a small mammal that lives in the mountains of the Himalayas and is classified as a “threatened” species on the IUCN Red List (IUCN, International Union for Conservation of Nature).
Due to the decline of its natural habitat, the global population of red pandas has decreased by 50% in the last 20 years. Human population growth, livestock farming, deforestation, and climate change are contributing to the decline of its natural habitat. Moreover, the growing interest in the red panda as a pet, and the hunting of the species for its fur to make hats or clothing, as well as the use of its tail as a good luck charm, are additional causes of the reduction in the wild population.
